This safari takes you to Kibale National Park for chimpanzee exploration and Bwindi National Park for mountain gorilla magical encounters. Kibale National Park is in western Uganda and offers refuge to over 10 primate species which include over 1500 chimpanzees as well as black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, red colobus monkeys, olive baboons and many others . Bwindi National Park is set in southwestern Uganda about 540kms and features as the prominent home to about half of all the mountain gorillas that make up a total of 1004 on earth today. Detailed itinerary

Day 1

Travel from Kampala to Kibale National Park

Early morning from Kampala our driver guide who will brief you on what your 5 days chimpanzee trekking safari Kibale and Bwindi gorilla trekking. Later, drive you westwards to Kibale National Park through Mubende-Fort Portal route which is 4 hours drive. Arrive at Kibale National Park early enough to check in at a lodge of your choice.

Day 2

Chimpanzee tracking and nature walk

Early in the morning you will gather at Kanyanchu Visitor Center for briefing on chimpanzee tracking. You will be put in a group of 7 visitors and assigned a park ranger guide who will take you through your primate adventure. At 8:00am, you will set off to the jungles to look for these amazing creatures and this may last you about 4 hours. A maximum of one hour is given to you to have magical encounter with chimpanzees, take their photos and explore their behaviors. After, you will get back or be picked up from where you started your trek back to the lodge to have lunch. In the afternoon. After here you can also take part in nature walk in Bigodi Wetland which comes with amazing sight at varied primate species including olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys as well as birds.

Day 3

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Early morning after breakfast getnon road trip to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arrive early enough at Bwindi National Park to check in at your lodge.

Day 4

Gorilla trekking and Batwa experience

At 8:00am, you will hit the jungles to search for these massive creatures together with an experienced and armed park ranger guide. Gorilla treks in Bwindi National Park begin from anyone of the four regions-Ruhija, Nkuringo, Rushaga and Buhoma. Each of them has gorilla families for trekking but only one will be allocated to you to trek in a group of 7 visitors. The trek to see gorillas may take you about 4 hours and this also covers one hour of magical encounter. Later, you will return to the lodge to have rest and in the afternoon/evening, you will pay a visit to Batwa pygmies to learn in depth about their behaviors, traditions and also enjoy the cultural and music performances.

Day 5

Return to Kampala

Following breakfast early in the morning, check out from your lodge ready to make a return journey to Kampala.
